With the release of our latest music video, Blankets & Chairs, we’ve encountered a surge of curiosity about the making of the film, the hidden imagery, and the cast. It’s an FX-heavy piece that merges video, still imagery and character animation into a surreal vision that compliments the pacing an humor of the song.

Produced for the band Horse, it tells the story of a micro-man who falls for a rebellious android that turns out to be more woman than he expected. We wanted to present an evolving narrative, with a beginning, middle and end – not one of those monotonous music videos that shows you all it has to offer in the first 30 seconds.
Shot in 4K and composited with After Effects and other Adobe tools, the video features over 70 FX shots – the most we’ve ever packed into a single piece. It took about 10 weeks from concept to completion.
In response to viewer enthusiasm, we quickly produced a handful of mini “behind the scenes” shorts to accompany the video, viewable on YouTube. The featurettes include easter eggs, composite breakdowns, and a piece on actress Kimberly Hamilton (and how we made her fly).
